Help for Dog's Fear of Thunder
Before Tellington TTouch, Nushka adopted from a shelter about 6 years ago, is now about 8- 9 years. She has gone through obedience training, is my personal favorite, only tries to please and turns into a shaking,
panting and totally stressed-out animal when she hears approaching thunder and fireworks. She ends up on my lap during thunder, and I
could power my house with the energy she creates with her constant shaking. We’ve tranquilized and kept her in the house, as I personally feel that this is still better than being exposed to the whole stress. The result is that I try to leave work early when I see thunder approaching, in order to make sure that Nushka gets into a safe place.
The first Saturday after TTouch, I raced home because thunder was
approaching and we had learned the body wrap, which “supposedly”
helps dogs with thunder issues. I got home, grabbed Nushka, put the
wrap on her and did some touches (too strong, not round . . .), while the thunder was approaching.
My dog stopped shivering and panting, lay down on the couch and
enjoyed our company, with the thunder and lighting all around us –
Nushka was content and okay, not happy, but also not visibly stressed.
My husband walked in looked at Nushka and wanted to know how many tranquilizers I had actually given her . . . NONE – but she had a body wrap and TTouches!
Thanks, you and your team have made a real difference in the live of
my dogs and the way that I treat and will get them to be treated by
others.

TTEAM Tools & Techniques
Help with Recovery from EPM
My Icelandic horse, Magic, was diagnosed with EPM in the fall of 2008 and the booklet TTEAM as a Complement in the Rehabilitation of Horses with Neurological Deficits was recommended to me to use as a tool in his recovery. It worked very well and was so useful — especially the Worksheet in the back of the booklet — that I thought I should use it for groundwork for all my equines following Magic’s recovery.
I found this booklet to be so useful because it has very clear pictures and explanations of each technique or exercise and each step of the worksheet refers you to the correct page in the booklet if you need help.
When I was working with Magic, I did the exercises every other day and sometimes took an extra day off, but rarely. Now that I do the exercises with our two other horses and our donkey, I tend to do them only once or twice a week—so each animal gets a workout maybe twice a month or so.

I don’t know if it would work for some people, but I do much better if I have some kind of structure and the worksheets, along with the booklet, provide it for me.
